EOLv2 beta - Points of Interest
Here are a few pointers to get you started.
To browse the EOLv2 beta site, you do not have to be registered as a user.
To contribute to the EOLv2 beta site, which includes making comments and playing with the new “collections” feature, you need to be registered as a user. It should be pretty intuitive how to accomplish this.
Please note - any data you create as a beta user will not persist to the site when it is launched. So please, do not spend hours and hours building the perfect collection, as it will Go Away in a week. It is a beta site, after all. If you’re really keen to add new content to EOL, or to curate something, please do it on the main site http://www.eol.org - that data will come over to the new site.
As you’ll probably figure out pretty quickly, not all functionality has been implemented in the EOLv2 beta. Not all links to static content are implemented. And not all of the tabs on the taxon pages are currently enabled.
While EOLv2 will support languages other than English, no languages other than English are supported in the beta.
A beta version of the EOLv2 mobile CSS is currently also in beta, so try visiting the beta from your favorite mobile device too.
